Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine Clinical Faculty

The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University was founded on the vision of creating a vibrant health care community that develops compassionate physicians who practice patient-centered care. As one of our clinical faculty members, you’ll actively mold the next generation of physicians at a medical school that fosters an interprofessional learning environment where students work collaboratively.

Shaping the future of medicine together

Partner with us

There are many ways for you to mentor our students and advance our curriculum, from delivering guest lectures and group seminars on our North Haven Campus, to precepting students in your own place of practice. By sharing your knowledge and experience, you are shaping the face of modern medicine, ensuring that health care of the future is entrusted to the most capable hands.

Becoming a member of the Netter faculty offers many intrinsic rewards, including the opportunity to shape the next generation of medical providers. In doing so, you’ll work alongside students who are smart, compassionate and committed.

By leaving your mark on them, you’ll leave a mark on the medical profession itself. Wherever our graduates land, they carry the Netter philosophy and its unwavering commitment to patient-centered care with them. As a clinical faculty member, you’ll help refine that philosophy and strengthen that commitment. You’ll make your impact felt outside of your own community, in hospitals, clinics and health care networks all over the country.

As a member of the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, you'll also enjoy the following benefits:

  • An academic faculty appointment and accompanying certificate that attests to the fact that your practice is serving as an official site for the education of our students.
  • Faculty development opportunities with non-cost continuing medical education (CME) programs, plus an invitation to the annual retreat.
  • Opportunity to do medical research with students and/or other members of the Netter faculty.
  • Free use of the Edward and Barbara Netter Library and access to online resources.
  • Ability to claim up to 20 hours of CME credit for teaching.
  • Limited university tuition benefit after completion of two years’ service as a preceptor.

Residents have access to all of the same teaching resources as our faculty and may participate in any faculty development sessions.

Our Partner Network

Netter student Avraham Rosen, MD ’22, works with David Howlett, MD, and his 11-month-old grandson Owen Howlett at Howlett’s East Granby Family Practice. We rely on our many clinical partners to provide hands-on learning experiences across diverse settings and patient populations as part of our precepting programs.

An expansive clinical network

Fully accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine’s first priority is preparing medical students from diverse backgrounds to reach their highest personal and professional potential. One hundred percent of the students from our first two classes successfully matched to residency programs at prestigious organizations, including Brown, Dartmouth, John Hopkins and Yale. Our students also often go on to successful residencies at many of our affiliate hospitals, retaining and growing their relationships formed while completing their clinical placements.

Our commitment to providing high-quality training extends to the clinical experiences students gain through multiple rotations, under the guidance of some of the most respected physicians in a variety of settings. The breadth of clinical work placements is instrumental to where students see themselves practicing medicine during and beyond their residency years.

We maintain a deep ancillary network of partnerships with over a dozen hospitals and health care centers in New England and Florida. These include not-for-profit children‘s hospitals, acute care community hospitals, senior care and retirement living communities, diagnostic and rehabilitation facilities, and beyond.
